Microsoft has announced new limitations for Windows 10 users running Microsoft 365 apps (formerly Office 365), further encouraging migration to Windows 11.
Key points to note:
- End of Support for Feature Updates:
Microsoft 365 apps on Windows 10 will no longer receive feature updates after Version 2608, scheduled for release in August 2026. - Security Updates Continue Until 2028:
Security updates will still be provided until October 10, 2028, but these will not include new functionality. - AI-Powered Tools Reserved for Windows 11:
Microsoft confirmed that new features, such as AI-powered productivity tools, will only be available to Windows 11 users.
